Rework
The cost or act of fixing defects
or defectives
as to make them fit for use in
accordance with either the customer
requirements or internal specifications, and the like. These costs
and/or acts sometimes includes extra operations created to solve an entire
lot of defects or defectives.
The goal of all quality
plans should encompass rework in an effort to circumvent such activities.
One goal of six sigma is to reduce
rework to zero.
Rework is always a non-value
adding activity.
